Semiconductor intellectual property market doubles in five years.

According to a market research report of MarketsandMarkets, a market research and consulting organization in the United States, it is estimated that the sales of semiconductor intellectual property (IP) market will increase from 2.5 billion dollars in 2012 to 5.7 billion dollars in 2017, with a compound annual growth rate higher than 14%.

According to the survey report, the growth of semiconductor intellectual property market is reflected in two fields: integrated circuit IP and system-on-chip IP, but it is expected that the total income of system-on-chip IP will increase even more, with a compound annual growth rate of around 19%. Among them, the growth of FPGA and PLD in integrated circuits and system-on-a-chip is the fastest, reaching 21.16%, and its total sales volume ranks second after SoC processor IP.

It is pointed out in the report that the SoC field of all intellectual property industries has a faster growth rate than its integrated circuit field. The global intellectual property market value chain has grown into a wide-ranging network including various fields.
